New Southwest/Central Business Specialist

Dena Beck began her duties as the new REAP Southwest/ Central REAP Business Specialist on November 27, 2006. Dena holds a BS degree in Horticultural Therapy from Kansas State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Organizational Management through Peru State College.

A business owner herself, Dena most recently worked as the Minden Chamber of Commerce Manager at Minden, Nebraska. She was also the co-creator of the Kearney County Joint Economic Development Agency. Dena operates Four Seasons Horticultural Services.

Her background will be a great benefit to the existing and startup small businesses in the Southwest/Central region. Counties in Dena’s service area include: Buffalo, Chase, Custer, Dawson, Dundy, Franklin, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Harlan, Hayes, Hitchcock, Kearney, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Phelps, Red Willow, and Sherman.

Dena lives near Minden with her husband David and their two young children, Chloe and Sloan. David is an RN at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at Hastings and formerly served in the Peace Corps.
