Dear REAP Members,
Please join us at the Center for Rural Affairs Annual Gathering and REAP Small Business Fair on Feb. 25, 2006 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. We have display space for 20 businesses, and there is no cost. We’ll even provide a complementary lunch, plus the full day of educational sessions. Small Business Legal Issues to Be Explored
REAP Madison County Latino Business Associación has teamed up with Creighton University Community Economic Development Law Clinic to present a two-hour training on legal issues that may be impacting small businesses in the area.

The session presenter is Steve Virgil, Attorney and Director of Creighton University’s Community Economic Law Clinic. Topics will include legal structure, financing a new or expanding business, employment laws and issues, and open time for audience questions. The meeting will be held Wednesday February 22, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the New American Center (Workforce Development building located at 105 E. Norfolk, Ave. Ste. 100). It is free and open to the public.

Center, Nebraska, Business Plan Training
REAP Women’s Business Center, the HomeTown Competitiveness Entrepreneurship Task Force, and Knox County Development Agency are sponsoring a Business Plans Basic training in Center, Nebraska. The five-week training will be on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the Extension Office meeting room.
The Extension Office is located at 308 Bridge Street in Center. The training begins March 1, 2006 and ends March 29, 2006.
