Osborne: Think Youth, Think Positive, Think Entrepreneur

Third District Congressman Tom Osborne, on a speaking tour across the southern tier of his district, gave an upbeat message on economic development strategies on March 15, 2003.

Osborne said a “can do” attitude and a commitment to retaining the best and brightest of our youth in our communities in diversified quality careers is a key to the future of Nebraska’s rural communities. He acknowledged that agriculture needs strengthening, but he indicated that alone isn’t enough.

Representative Osborne mentioned the comparative advantages rural Nebraska provides. These include quality youth and rural citizens, possessing strong abilities and work ethic. Also, abundant water resources, if managed carefully, quality air, and productive soils are key elements offered by rural Nebraska.
